Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has dropped the bombshell by admitting that he would like to play for Arsenal one day. The French midfielder has been subjected to interest from the gunners. He has been one of the best players by a long-distance for Newcastle.
The speculation about his future comes at the same time as Yohan Cabaye’s last season.Cabaye ended up leaving Newcastle for PSG in a £ 20 million deal and Newcastle’s form has plummeted since then. They have been able to find their feet once again andSissoko has been a major reason towards it.
He has missed only a couple of matches in the league this season and he has contributed a lot in both areas of the pitch with his boundless energy. He has even scored two goals, but more importantly, he has hit almost a shot every match. Arsenal could certainly do with a competitive player likeSissoko. The North London outfit are once again facing a struggle to finish in the top four this season. Unlike in recent years, they may have to contend with the threat of several teams like Manchester United, Southampton, Tottenham, and Liverpool for the final fourth spot.
Wenger may feel that the addition ofSissoko will help him in this regard.”The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle. If anything should happen, it will. I hope I’ll leave for a bigger club one day, but I don’t know when.England is my priority. If Wenger calls, I’ll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we’ll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart.I hope I’ll improve to win the Champions League one day. I don’t want to set limits to myself. I want to go higher. That’s my goal,” saidSissoko.
